The Kronplatz region in South Tyrol - in the northernmost province of Italy - comprises a unique, astonishingly varied mixture of landscapes and stretches from the west of the Puster Valley to the Antholz and Casies valleys and extends far into the Val Badia in the south. Where in the north the high mountains of the main Alpine ridge call for mountaineers, mountain bikers, climbers and in winter for ski tourers and snowshoe hikers, so do the legendary, majestic 'pale mountains' in the southeast, the Dolomites, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And if you prefer to experience nature in a gentle way, you can go for a walk, bike or hike on a journey of discovery through the Puster Valley, explore its side valleys with the traditional villages or visit the small town of Bruneck. The heart and at the same time namesake of the region is the 2,275 m high Kronplatz, also known as the number 1 ski mountain in South Tyrol.
